Sparkle Valley - Book 2
Overview
Abigail made it back.
But Sparkle Valley didn’t stay the same.
For a brief moment, everything seemed restored. Emily rediscovered her love of imagination. The toys were safe. And Abigail, reunited with her “big sister,” believed the worst was behind them.
It wasn’t.
As summer fades and middle school looms, Emily begins drifting again—this time not suddenly, but slowly. Her world is filling with new priorities and a growing sense that childhood is something she’s starting to leave behind. Abigail feels it in the quiet moments: the longer stretches alone, the way imagination now competes with everything else.
And then something unexpected happens.
A message from Sparkle Valley breaks through.
Gloria—the rag doll Abigail thought she left safe and secure—returns with a warning:
Sparkle Valley has fallen.
The Smortzle, a manipulative and power-hungry troll, has seized control. The once vibrant world has been twisted into something unrecognizable. Toys are no longer wandering freely—they are being forced to work, mining blue stone and building monuments to their new ruler. Fear and control has replaced wonder.
And worst of all—
No one knows the truth about how it happened.
Drawn back into the Valley, Abigail arrives in a world that feels familiar but fundamentally broken. Massive statues of the Smortzle tower over the landscape. The Blue Palace has replaced the Pink Palace. The Lost Toys are scattered, enslaved, or hiding. Even former allies—like the Bobblehead soldiers—now enforce the Smortzle’s rule out of fear.
But something doesn’t add up.
The Smortzle may be in charge—but he may not be the real threat.
Strange attacks by shadowy Inzos—creatures that feed on fear and memory—are growing more frequent and more aggressive. And there are whispers that they are not acting on the Smortzle’s orders at all.
Someone else may be pulling the strings.
As Abigail reconnects with old friends and meets new characters—including the unpredictable and unsettling marionette Frank Needlenose—she is pulled into a deeper mystery. Every answer leads to more questions. Every ally may be hiding something. And the line between truth and manipulation becomes harder to see. At the center of it all is a troubling possibility:
Ivana—the rival Abigail once helped redeem—may not be gone.
She may be hidden.
She may be broken.
Or she may be responsible.
Determined to find the truth, Abigail ventures into the unknown—following clues that lead her to a hidden cottage and a long-abandoned laboratory where dangerous experiments once blurred the line between imagination and reality.
There, she uncovers something far more unsettling than a tyrant’s rule.
The force threatening Sparkle Valley was never fully defeated.
It was only waiting.
As the Valley fractures further and trust begins to collapse, Abigail is forced into harder choices than ever before:
Who can she believe?
What is she really fighting?
And if the true enemy isn’t the Smortzle…
Then how do you stop something you can’t even see?
Because this time, saving Sparkle Valley won’t be about restoring what was lost. It will be about confronting what was never fully understood.
